Schweiziska Handelskammarens History
In November 2009 the Swiss Swedish Business Forum changed its name to ”Schweiziska Handelskammaren – Swiss Chamber” at an extraordinary general meeting. The change of name was accomplished to underline the objective and ambition of the organization: to contribute to increasing business contacts between Switzerland and Sweden to the benefit of Swedish as well as Swiss commerce and industry.
With this change of name the circle has been closed: When the "earlier" Schweiziska Handelskammaren was terminated in 1992, a Swiss Business Club was established. This was an association intended to take over the Schweiziska Handelskammarens place not as a institution for services and information, but primarily as a forum and network for its members. After a few years the Swiss Business Club was re-named as Swiss Swedish Business Forum in order to stress the business oriented direction of the association. The association evolved into a worthy follower of the preceding organizations, still with the aim to support prospering business relations between Switzerland and Sweden.
The actual Schweiziska Handelskammaren still has the same focus and ambition: to assist a business and trade related exchange between Switzerland and Sweden and to support its members in finding new and promising business contacts. It therefore provides a solid business network and regularly arranges events such as breakfast meetings, business luncheons, company presentations and many more.
